B and i got the most incredible advice
from a couple we had the privilege
of getting to know last year.
they, too have a child with special needs
and the wisdom they provided for us
has been an incredible blessing.
one of the many, many insightful things they said
was to be sure to spend one-on-one time
with your typical children.
and so last week, K and i had the privilege
to go on a trip.
together.
just us girls.
and yes, as you can guess,
it was incredible.
we got to visit my sister and her hubby and baby boy
and then we headed to a bridal shower in Alabama
for my other sister.
i hope and pray
that there will be more.
many more of these special trips to come.
it was an absolutely delicious time.
here are a few of my favorite moments from the trip:
waiting for K to wake up from nap
a red front door
snuggling up with my favorite girl
the sounds of classical piano music
hearing moos out the window
coffee drinking without anywhere to go
organized closets
snuggling up in a yellow blanket
kissing K awake
B held down the fort with both boys
and a lot of help from my dad.
and K and i traveled to four new states.
we headed to:
Tennessee
Kentucky
Alabama
then Georgia.
many, many more photos to come.
stay tuned.
and somehow,
(i have no idea how)
this little blog
was nominated for the
best family blog
on apartment therapy.

The LORD does not look at the things man looks at.
Man looks at the outward appearance,
but the LORD looks at the heart.
