i finally got our advent calendar
untangled from last year.
oh my goodness.
that was a mess.
and here we are, well into december already.
i’m a mess.
this year, we’ll be reading a story from
the Jesus Storybook Bible
(which you must get if you don’t have it.
and it’s on sale for $9.93, people!).
(click here and scroll down for the reading plan)
and we kicked off the first day of advent
by not doing anything for advent as a family
because we got home too late
(but we did have a fabulous evening
with some dear friends).
so i let the bigs listen to
the story for the first day of advent
on the jesus storybook bible audio
(also amazing!)
as they fell asleep.
i always have high hopes
that this year will be different.
that somehow i’ll be ahead of life
when this time of year rolls by,
but i never, ever am.
so this year, i’m not ahead
but i am here.
In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets
at many times and in various ways,
but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son,
whom he appointed heir of all things,
and through whom also he made the universe.
